Levels of the Text(s), the Students for Whom They Are Appropriate, and Timing

There is only one level of this writing system.  Note, too, that the texts themselves (there are two of them) make absolutely no mention of a grade level.

The corollary of this is that teacher and child can take as long as they wish to complete the text.  In class settings, for instance, you can teach it over all three years of middle school.  In home-school settings, you can teach it across two or more years if that is more helpful for the learner.  Be aware, too on the other hand, that experience has proven that just portions of the text (for those who do not have time to complete it all) can have remarkable benefits [see the Author's Corner].

As you can see from the many testimonials, this program has been taught successfully at almost the entire range of levels of schooling--from 6th grade (5th and younger by home-schoolers) through seniors and into college and adult education.

The content is what I taught to college Freshman Composition classes, but I have rewritten it to be simple enough for use in middle school or later.  It is so comprehensive that one teacher used it to teach an Advanced Placement course to seniors.  On the other hand, at least one second grader and one third grader have finished it in a home-school setting.

Teachers have bought the text not only for use from middle school through developmental college but also for ESL and learning-disabled students.
